When it comes to Mexican-inspired cravings, each U.S. state has a go-to Taco Bell order. While some states lean into bold flavor combos, others opt for simple classics—or even surprising dessert and beverage picks. Here’s a regional breakdown of the top-searched Taco Bell favorites across the country:

  • Midwest: Cheesy Gordita Crunch
  • Northeast: Crunchwrap Supreme
  • South: Chalupa Supreme
  • West: Tie between Crunchwrap Supreme, Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, and Crunchy Taco

In the South, the Chalupa Supreme is the clear winner, topping search interest in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia. This crispy, chewy hybrid continues to be a fan favorite in states that embrace rich, satisfying flavors.

Over in the Northeast, the Crunchwrap Supreme captures hearts and Google searches. Maine, Massachusetts, New York, and Vermont all crave the layered convenience of this tortilla-wrapped staple.

The Midwest shows strong love for the Cheesy Gordita Crunch, leading searches in Michigan, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Its crunchy-soft combo and cheesy center seem to align perfectly with the region’s comfort food preferences.

Out West, the data reveals a three-way tie. States like Arizona and Oregon favor the Crunchy Taco, while New Mexico and Utah lean toward the hearty Beefy 5-Layer Burrito. The Crunchwrap Supreme also holds its own in places like Alaska, Washington, and Wyoming, reflecting the diverse tastes of the western half of the United States.Several states stood out with uniquely specific preferences. California opted for the Mountain Dew Baja Blast Dream Freeze—a bold beverage pick—while Hawaii chose the Cantina Chicken Quesadilla, and North Dakota leaned into the Cantina Chicken Burrito. Dessert lovers dominated in Arkansas, North Carolina, and Rhode Island, where Cinnamon Twists topped the list. Even West Virginia broke the mold with a cult favorite: Nacho Fries.

The Most Popular Taco Bell Menu Items Overall

Across all 50 states and D.C., a handful of Taco Bell menu items dominate the rankings. Here’s a breakdown of the most-searched items nationwide and the number of states in which each one came out on top:

  • Crunchwrap Supreme – 9 states
  • Chalupa Supreme – 7 states
  • Cheesy Gordita Crunch – 5 states
  • Beefy 5-Layer Burrito – 4 states
  • Cinnamon Twists – 4 states
  • Mountain Dew Baja Blast – 4 states
  • Crunchy Taco – 3 states
  • Mexican Pizza – 2 states
  • Spicy Potato Soft Taco – 2 states

Topping the list is the Crunchwrap Supreme, a signature Taco Bell item since its debut in 2005. Its portability, with all the fixings neatly sealed in a grilled flour tortilla, has made it a consistent fan favorite—especially among diners who want both flavor and function in a single bite.

The Chalupa Supreme follows close behind, appealing to those who love the contrast of a crispy shell and soft, savory fillings. Originally launched in the early 2000s, this menu item continues to stand the test of time with its indulgent texture and generous toppings.

The Cheesy Gordita Crunch stands out as a comfort food crossover, combining a hard shell taco with a soft gordita wrap and a blanket of melted cheese in between. Its popularity in five states suggests a strong national appreciation for cheesy, multi-textured eats.

Even Taco Bell’s non-food items earned spots on the list. The Mountain Dew Baja Blast, a vibrant, tropical soda developed exclusively for the chain, earned top billing in four states, proving that beverage loyalty runs deep for this turquoise drink. On the sweeter side, Cinnamon Twists—Taco Bell’s crunchy dessert dusted in cinnamon sugar—snagged the top spot in Arkansas, North Carolina, Rhode Island, and Washington, D.C.While traditional items like the Crunchy Taco still hold ground, more recent innovations like the Spicy Potato Soft Taco and the revived Mexican Pizza (which returned in 2022 due to public demand) show that fan campaigns and cult followings can shape fast food fame in powerful ways.
